With the release of patch 3.3 wow players will finally get the chance to square off with one of the most famous bad guys in video games... Arthas Menethil, but to the rest of us we know him as The Lich King.
Now, I know there is a lot to cover in 3.3 but for now I'm going stick to the Icecrown. There are a lot of tweaks for classes and the release of Tier 10, which like the other things I will get to shortly, but the main thing on PvE players’ minds should be taking on Arthas.
Icecrown Citidel, like most raids end game raids, has two modes, 10-man, and 25-man, and each of those versions contains 12 encounters. Also, Blizzard has said each encounter can be done on Normal or Heroic difficulty, and with a new U1 feature, to toggle easily between difficulties.
Items being dropped will start at 251 in Normal, 10m jump to 264 in Heroic 10-man/Normal 25, and peak at 277 for the heroic 25. As I said there is a lot to cover so here's the short of it.
Entrance to the Citidel
- Face a legion of undead
- Notable undead: Lord Marrowgar, Supreme Overseer of the Cult of the Damned, Lady Deathwhisper
- Eventually the Horde and Alliance split onto 2 gunships commanded by High Overlord Sour Fang (Horde) and Muradin Bronzebeard (Alliance)
The Wings of the Icecrown
- After the gunship event players travel into an are with 3 separate wings
1. Frostwing Halls:-Lair of the Frost Wyrm Sindgrasa
- Valithria Dreamwalker-captured green dragon, Scourge test subject
2. The Plagueworks
- Contains twisted Scourge experiments
- Face off against Festergut, and Rotface, who protect Professor Putricide
3. The Crimson Hall
- Take on the leaders of the San‘Layn, Valanar, Keleseth, and Taldaram who protect Lana’thel
The Frozen Throne
- After all 3 wings are clear you fight this guy
This brings a lot of excitement back into the World of Warcraft but the gunship battles do have me a little nervous.
Well, that's it for now. I'll keep checking in and letting you guys know if anything new comes up, and reviewing the other upcoming patch notes. Until then, I'll see you, in the World of Warcraft.
